Limitless Optimization of Machine Tool Performance

The challenges of today's aerospace industry create a need for smarter, more flexible solutions. Open architecture control systems provide a platform for customization and ongoing upgrades that provide users with the kind of controls they need to maximize lean performance. This keeps the door open for continuous process improvement, greatly increasing the lifetime return on investment.

Once again, Hartwig engineers think outside of the box and create the perfect mix of efficiency and value.  Hartwig began with a Multus B300W an intelligent multi-tasking Okuma Lathe.  The Multus uses the technology of a lathe, vertical machining center and a horizontal machining center and packages it into a single multus product.

Technology and engineering team up for big payoff

The owners of Steelville Mfg. knew that their manufacturing job shop would own an Okuma Multus someday from the first time they saw it operate. Now that they have installed one, John Bell, one of the owners of Steelville Mfg. is saying, "I see the future of machining in a shop like ours, doing small to medium sized components, only needing an Okuma Multus or MacTurn type lathe for turning. Anything else for turning will put you at a disadvantage."
