St. Louis company expands with help of Hartwig

J.K. Pulley Koch FamilyJ.K. Pulley was founded by the Koch Family in 1973. In 1992, the Koch and Nichting families yet again took their business to next level by purchasing Ancel Products. Ancel Products is the job shop division of the family business. Both companies were founded based on one simple philosophy: provide customers with a quality product that meets all their needs. J.K. Pulley and Ancel Products have been so successful over the years that they have expanded their business from a 5,000 square foot facility to more than 73,000 today.

The J.K. Pulley division of the business specializes in manufacturing pulleys that range in size from 1" to 35", spanning across all industries, and many types of material. Ancel Products not only supports the pulley industry, but also excels in the job shop world. Ancel currently supports many different industries such as aerospace, automotive, OEM's, and more.

Hartwig is proud to call J.K. Pulley/Ancel Products one of our partners in manufacturing. Since day one, Hartwig and J.K. Pulley have shown a true commitment to each other. Hartwig has supplied 32 CNC machines to J.K. Pulley/Ancel Products since 1973. The machines range from smaller diameter lathes to some of the largest lathes and machining centers that Okuma manufactures. This is all part of the dedication that J.K. Pulley and Ancel Products has made to their customers; they want the capability to meet customer demand.

In May of 2008, J.K. Pulley/Ancel Products expanded their business yet again by purchasing an Okuma MA-500HB Horizontal Machining Center. "This is going to take our company to a new level and we have Hartwig to thank. My family would not have what we have today without vendors like Hartwig," said Dennis Nichting, President of Ancel Products.

Ancel Products made the decision to purchase the Okuma based on the new scope of work and tight tolerances from one of their new customers. Dennis also stated, "The guys in the shop have nicknamed the machine, The Monster, because the machine makes so many chips, so quickly and accurately. We are very impressed with the speed of the machine and the tight tolerances that we're holding."
