Okuma lathe opportunity

The Okuma Captain will help your company become more efficient and profitable.  The Captain series was designed around the desires and needs of United States manufacturing.  Okuma designed the Captain series for several reasons, to reduce cycle times, reduce setup time, and deliver the latest machine tool technology.

The Captain series machine is 20-30% faster than its predecessors (LB-15, LB-25, Crown, and Cadet) using the same part program.  How is this possible?  Although the speeds and feeds are the same, the machine can move and process while out of the cut much quicker than in years past.

How do we reduce setup time?  No more taking a cut and then making offsets, no more manually entering offset data into the control, and no more using a piece of paper between the tool and the material to get the offset data.  The machine comes standard with a manual touchsetter, that when the tool touches off the information is automatically relayed to the machine offset page and adjusts the program accordingly.

All machines have the latest technology?  Not exactly. Today's society revolves around our computers, emails, accounting, pictures, the list goes on.  Why shouldn't our machine tools operate like the rest of society?  The Okuma machine operates on a Window XP platform that allows for all the same benefits that your home PC does.  For example, the control has a 40 GB hard drive; your shop can eliminate the drip feeding process for long programs.  The machine control has USB ports for complete flexibility, wireless internet, program transfer, etc.

The greatest benefit of the above items is that this is Okuma's standard.   These are not options that need to be added, this is what Okuma, Hartwig, and the customer have deemed necessary to take manufacturing to the next level in the United States.
